Here are the Things You Need to Know Before You Get a Penis Piercing
What’s it all about?
A penis is any jewelry that is inserted into the:
- Glans are the tip or head of your penis.
- Foreskin (if you don’t have your penis circumcised)
- The shaft is the length of your penis
- the scrotum is the place where you keep your testicles
You can do it for many reasons, including sexual pleasure and aesthetics.
Is there a different type?
The term penis piercing is sometimes used as an umbrella term. There are many ways to puncture the penis. Each piercing is unique.
- Apadravya – is pierced vertically through glans from top to bottom, or vice versa.
- Ampallangpierced horizontally from left to right through the glans
- Deep shaft Typically, an ampallang or apadravya did down the shaft towards the penis base.
- Dydoe/king’s crown: done vertically through the ridge at the penis head’s base
- Foreskin if not circumcised. With jewelry placed where the foreskin covers or towards the shaft
- Frenumdone horizontally right behind the glans below the shaft, known as the frenulum or in several horizontal lines along the bottom.
- Guiche: runs horizontally across your perineum (the Skin between your buttocks and anus)
- Harada: anywhere on your scrotum. Often in the middle of your scrotum.
- Lorum horizontally or vertically at the point where the base and shaft meet the scrotum
- Magic cross: is composed of two to three piercings through your glans. Usually, two barbells cross each other, and four beads stick out under the Skin.
- Prince Albert goes through the hole where pee is released, called the Ura, and exits through the penis shaft, just behind the glans.
- Public: consists of a piece of jewelry that runs through the area surrounding the base of your penis.
- Reverse PA: The opposite of Prince Albert. Jewelry enters the urethra through the top of the shaft.
What are the sexual benefits?
Penis piercings may have sexual benefits for your partner or you.
For your benefit
Movement stimulation during masturbation, oral or penetrative sex can stimulate piercings in the shaft or glans. This leads to greater pleasure.
This increased sensation is widely held in high regard by Prince Albert.
Your partner’s benefit
Some piercings increase penetrative sex by stimulating different nervous systems in the vagina, clitoris or anus.
These could include:
- ampallang
- apadravya
- frenum
- Magic cross
Is it possible to get a piercing done?
Your piercer will be able to determine if the piercing that you desire is compatible with your anatomy.
If you have a circumcised penis, for example, you won’t be able to get a foreskin piercing.
Perforations, especially on the glans and shafts, can affect your ability to urinate.
Thin condom material could also be pierced by jewelry placed through the urethra.
A penis piercing will not affect your fertility.
What kinds of jewelry can be used for this piercing procedure?
The piercing location will determine the type of jewelry that is used. One of these options may be recommended by your piercer:
- Circular barbell: Horseshoe-shaped a ring with removable beads at each end
- Captive Bead Ring: Circular ring with single, removable beads at the ends
- Straight barbell: straight, rod-shaped, with a removable bead at every end
What materials are available to make your jewelry?
Discuss the following options with your piercer:
- Surgical Titanium: hypoallergenic, ideal for sensitive Skin
- Plastics are made from biocompatible polymers (plastics). Flexible, durable and safe for initial piercings
- Niobium is Another hypoallergenic material that doesn’t easily break down like other metals.
- Yellow or White Gold:14-karat gold or yellow gold are recommended for healing. Avoid gold-plated jewelry, as it can cause allergic reactions and infections.
- Platinumhighly recommended because it’s more expensive and more difficult to find.
