Medical school admissions in the United States is divided into four stages, all of which are crucial and must be completed by every applicant – * MCAT (Medical College Admission Test). * AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service). * Letters of recommendation. * Personal Statement.

Here, we will discuss specifically on the AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service). This is a non-profit and centralized application process for entering into the first year of medical colleges of United Sates. These applications do not provide for admission to joint courses or special programs of colleges. This is just an application process and is related to the admission of students. Independent colleges have full independence in giving admissions to the students. AMCAS is the single form through which you can apply to innumerable number of colleges. AMCAS also sends MCAT scores to the medical colleges, if a particular student provides the necessary details. You must remember here that the individual schools send a supplemental form after they get the AMCAS form.

Regarding the fees for the application, you are required to pay $160 for the first and subsequently $30 for every school that you apply. You can also apply for a fee waiver, for which you are eligible if you get a seat in a medical college.
